Renewed and Improved Kitchen Open Floor Plan in Thistle Downs Development

These clients entrusted us with their vision of transforming the kitchen into an open and spacious entertaining area. Removing the existing dining room wall and reworking the laundry room walls brought a whole new life to the space. Having a new open concept kitchen was a long-time dream of our clients. We were happy to assist in making this dream come true.

Upon entering the kitchen, you are greeted with a large 14’ island, featuring Fabuwood’s Onyx, Cobblestone cabinetry. This dark stain cabinet selection was installed throughout the entire kitchen. The island comfortably seats five guests and has taken the title as the centerpiece of the kitchen. The island features a drawer microwave, wall oven, and Rev-A-Shelf’s Trash/Recycle double pull-out bins with the slow close feature. We installed three (3) eye catching Coronade Pandora Gold Leaf Mini Pendant lights centered over the island. The client loved the Pandora Gold Leaf Mini Pendants so much, they requested new matching light fixtures to be installed in their foyer and over their dining room table.

The focal point of the kitchen is the cooktop station, featuring Fabuwood’s 48” Arched Hood. On each side of the range hood, we installed Fabuwood’s glass door wall cabinets with mullion grids. LED lights were installed on the inside of the glass door cabinets, allowing the client to showcase decorative glassware. Tall pantry cabinets were installed on both ends of this wall space to optimize additional storage for the client.

The cabinets are elegantly topped with Emerstone's Alabaster Gold Quartz. We installed American Olean's Calacatta Gold Italian Marble backsplash in a herringbone pattern on both perimeter walls. The light earthy tones in the marble backsplash subtly complements the dark stain of the cabinetry. To tie in the gold accents, Berenson's Brookridge 128mm CC Modern Brushed Gold pulls were installed throughout. We also installed Brizo 63025LF-GL Luxe Gold Artesso 1.8 GPM, Single lever handle pull down kitchen faucet, with a matching Brizo Luxe Gold countertop push button for the garbage disposal. We installed ten new recessed lights, evenly distributed throughout the newly opened space to give optimal lighting. Dimmable under cabinet lighting was also installed throughout the kitchen.

The entire first floor of the home underwent renovations. All of the first-floor walls were painted in Sherwin Williams #7002 Downy, and the ceilings, doors and trim were all painted a refreshing Bright White. We also installed Mannington's Adura Flex, Kona Coconut Luxury Vinyl throughout the first floor of the home. After installing the new flooring, the client requested to have the stairway leading to the 2nd floor remodeled to match. We installed new white oak hardwood stair treads, newel posts, and handrail which were stained to match the Kona Coconut flooring. We also installed new white risers, balusters and trim to complete the stairway transformation.
