Spa-Like Master Bathroom Retreat in Dallastown, PA
The homeowners visualized a modern spa-like retreat complete with a free-standing soaking tub and a luxurious shower experience for their existing bathroom. They disliked their old oversized corner garden tub that was never used and wanted a multi-jetted custom shower. We began by gutting the entire bathroom leaving a clean slate. It was a substantial-sized bathroom that measured 11 x 11.5 with a separate 3.5 x7 water closet for the toilet area.
We created a spa-like atmosphere by using black pebble stones on the mud bed of the shower floor. We installed Riobel’s 12” rain shower head and a 4–jet multi-function hand shower with slide bar and hose on one wall, and on an adjacent wall, we installed a Riobel 2-jet showerhead. The walls were tiled with 12x24 slate grey ceramic tiles in a running bond pattern. A 4” band of grey and black accent glass tile was placed in the upper portion of the shower walls. Two niches were installed, one large divided niche in which the patterned glass accent band runs through and a second lower niche. A knee wall in the same slate grey tile wraps around the corner and side of the shower. The shower has a frameless glass enclosure with a custom shower door and chrome door handle.
We installed a white Barclay, Lucinda acrylic 66” freestanding tub and added a Riobel floor mount tub filler and flexible hand wand hose.
A new white skirted Kohler Cimarron toilet was installed in the existing water closet. We changed out the entrance door to the water closet, installing a new white five-panel modern-looking frosted glass door.
Two white matching shaker-style Bertch vanities were installed and topped with Azul Platino granite. The combination of the two grey colors and the black minerals make a very stunning “snow leopard” style pattern in the granite. One vanity includes a tall linen closet for additional storage. Above each sink hangs a matching framed mirror. Modern-looking 3-light chrome wall fixture vanity sconces were installed above each sink. Kohler’s Vox vessel sinks in white were selected for their modern appearance. Riobel’s, Equinox single-hole chrome lav faucets were chosen for their sleek modern look.
Armstrong’s LVT 12x24 Alterna floor in Agate Grey was installed in a running bond pattern.
Matching Riobel chrome towel rings, towel bars, toilet paper holder, and robe hooks were selected.
