Master Bath Renovation Suite near Out Door Country Club in York, PA
The cliché out with old and in with the new rings very true for this master bath suite project. These empty nesters were ready to update their 80’s bathroom, decorated in trendy navy blue with brass finishes. The once popular oversized garden tub took up a large area in the existing bathroom and was situated in front of the window so the homeowners needed to step into the tub to operate it. In fact, they admitted to using the garden tub only one time in ten years since they lived in their home. The cave-like acrylic shower stall unit was crammed in the corner of the bathroom and the garden tub divided the two sinks, one on either side of the room. The toilet was concealed in a water closet which we decided not to change or move except for replacing and updating the toilet.
As we designed the new bathroom layout, we recommended entirely eliminating the large garden tub thus allowing additional space in the bathroom. We reconfigured the shower stall, installing a custom oversized neo-angled ceramic tile shower with a knee wall, recessed niche, glass panels with a custom glass shower door. A Kohler polished chrome multi-function hand shower along with multi-function showerhead was installed in the shower. For the vanity we choose Yorktowne’s maple Iconic cabinetry with a smoke stain and used matching hardware from Bertch. The new Everest, Viatera LG quartz solid surface vanity runs the entire length of the one wall and we incorporated a lower vanity space to be used as a make-up area. Moen’s Rothbury faucets in polished chrome finish were selected as well as Kohler’s white rectangular undermount Archer sinks. Matching Rothbury toilet paper holder, robe hooks and towel bar accessories were installed as well. A much-needed floor to ceiling linen closet for storage was incorporated to the right of the vanity. (3) new LED lighted dimmable touch screen mirrors were installed. The toilet was replaced and updated with a new white Kohler Santa Rosa comfort height, one piece in the water closet. Karndean’s Van Gogh luxury vinyl tile was laid in Aged Redwood, a silver and gray distressed flooring that was run on a diagonal pattern on the floor.
