Kitchen Update on Strathcona Dr. in York, PA

Unfortunately, these clients had a devastating fire that destroyed their kitchen. A fire restoration company was hired by their insurance company to remove debris and complete smoke remediation. A neighbor referred them to Red Oak to renovate their kitchen. Their original kitchen had custom cherry cabinetry and was due for a facelift. A small center island in the middle of the kitchen was oddly sized and the kitchen lacked sufficient cabinet storage space. The new layout plan included removing a wall and doorway opening. We added bar seating for three bar chairs which is used for informal dining. Additional perimeter cabinetry was added and we enlarged the size of the island which creates more workable space.

The clients selected Fabuwood’s Hallmark semi-custom cabinetry in Frost with Emerstone Quartz countertops in Borghini Lincoln, which has a soft, refined charcoal veining with a pure white background. We installed MSI’s Henley hexagon mosaic backsplash with white grout above the sink wall and two other counters. The tile features rich black natural marble with dramatic beige, gray and white veins. To complement the artistic nature of this tile, multiple finishes were used to add extra dimension and interest. We installed Berenson’s Aspire 128mm cabinet pulls in brushed nickel. They focus on curves and straight lines to give a sleek and sophisticated design.

We installed an Elkay quartz classic 33" undermount double basin sink, low divide in Grey Stone to pull out the gray veining in the quartz countertop. A Moen Arbor single handle pulldown spray kitchen faucet with Reflex Technology was installed. An ½ HP InSinkErator garbage disposal was selected with a brushed nickel disposal air button along with a brushed nickel Moen soap dispenser.

The lighting was upgraded with LED undercabinet low voltage lighting with dimmers. Dimmable LED high hats were strategically placed throughout the kitchen in the ceiling. All the kitchen appliances were updated with GE’s innovative and stylish Profile line.
