Transitional Trendy Kitchen Renovation in Stonybrook

This kitchen embraces harmonious elements that offer a warm and welcoming feel. Repositioning the patio door enlarged the kitchen space allowing for an oversized island. The existing window over the sink was eliminated, creating additional wall space for the range hood to be incorporated into the design. Achieving an open and spacious kitchen space was a top priority in this remodel.

Elias custom cabinetry, Select Cherry stained in Smokey Mirror finish, shaker style cabinet compose the 8.5’ island. The island is home to Rev-A-Shelf’s wood bottom, double 35qt. waste container. The top of the island is covered with MSI’s Carrara Mist Quartz, the creamy background is highlighted with subtle specks and veins that add interest and depth.

Taking center stage in the island is Ruvati’s 33” Fireclay Workstation white farmhouse kitchen apron front sink – RVL2387WH. This sink is 100% made in Italy. The clay is fired at 2900 degrees Fahrenheit as the surface of the sink is fused with the interior. This creates a finish that is resistant to cracks, chips, and abrasions. This workstation sink includes Ruvati’s foldable drying rack, solid wood cutting board, and stainless-steel bottom rinse grid. A Moen, Align Matte Black One-Handle high Arc pulldown kitchen faucet, Model #7565BLS is centered on the sink, offering 50% more spray power and smooth operation with the flexible hose.

Fabuwood’s Solid Wood-Allure, Galaxy, Dove cabinets construct the perimeter cabinetry in the kitchen. Contrasting natural Black Pearl leathered granite was used to top the perimeter cabinetry. A custom pocket door tall storage cabinet was installed, containing a hidden coffee station. This allows the coffee maker and coffee essentials to remain out of sight while it is not in use. For the backsplash we applied Anatolia’s, Soho Vintage 2x5 Matte Grey Pickets running the pickets vertical, with Mapei’s Charcoal #5047 grout. A combination of Berenson’s Brookridge Modern Brushed Gold Square Knob #2649-1MDB-P and Radial Reign 160mm & 128mm Matte Black and Modern Brushed Gold Pull #5057-455MDB-P were used in the design of the kitchen. Radial Reign is contemporary cabinet hardware in a knurled pull design and stylish mixed finish mixing matte black and brush gold. Two natural maple Rev-A-Shelf adjustable pullout Spice Racks, #448-BC19-5C flank the gas cooktop. A large pantry to the left of the wall ovens houses (3) pull-out shelves for easy access.

A custom Elias 36" Artisan Curved Custom Wood Hood, in Smokey Mirror Stained w/ stainless mesh liner was installed above the cooktop.

Two bold and classy 20” metal disc shaped pendants by Chris Loves Julia Victor were hung above the island. The upper portion of the fixture is glossy black while the underside is a lustrous brass. Dimmable LED high hats were strategically placed in the ceiling throughout the kitchen. Plus, dimmable LED undercabinet lighting was added which is perfect for task lighting, making food preparation and other tasks easier by minimizing shadows.
